Brief History

Ali prided himself on his physical fitness, and excelled. He had a
degree in chemistry from Heriot Watt University, but would not enter
teaching or industry because he wanted a well paid, physically active
occupation. He would not consider eventually taking over his Father's
business.

He wanted to join the army, but was told that as he hadn't been born in
the UK, he would not be accepted. He had several interviews with Nigel
Griffiths, MP - who said that he would try to help him be accepted.

Ali had also wanted to become a pilot. He also applied to join the
Police Force, and on 22nd July 2004, shortly before his death, he
received the notice to present himself for an entrance examination.

The Death

Ali Reza Manouchehri, aged 27 was hanged in his flat on the 3rd of Aug
2004. Due to total misconduct by police no one has ever been charged or
investigated for this crime.

The Police just simply did not care. They still don't. They carried
out no investigation. Moments after arriving at murder scene police
concluded that he had committed suicide. How can they determine that it
was suicide before a post-mortem had even taken place?

Police never contacted the CID so that a proper and thorough
investigation could be taken. Police and Procurator Fiscal in charge of
the case have lied on several occasions regarding the actions of police
on the day of Ali's death.

Ali never had a reason to take his own life. He was a very active,
outgoing young person and had many aspirations and plans for the
future. He had made plans with friends and to meet up the week
following his death to buy a camper van. He wanted to go travel and
explore the world as travelling was one of his great enjoyments in
life. Not only are his family shocked, but a large circle of his
friends are shocked that Ali would ever commit suicide. No one believes
the verdict of the police.

Below are Documents of Ali's time in the Army and the Police's
Invitation of recruitment into the force.
