As others have pointed out, this is not true. What happened is
(I assume in your case, I know of one other person who was also
reporting this misinformation), they popped up a message to
people still running version 7.1 and it was worded in a way such
that you could misinterpret it to mean that there was not going
to be a free version anymore and that you should upgrade to the
pay version of 7.5. In reality, there is a free version of 7.5
as well. What's not clear is whether the message was
intentionally worded to make it seem like you had to upgrade to
pay version.
