That should be simpler. I think the pernicious WinXP driver is replaced by
the Win2000 driver if you follow advice from BVRP (makers of Motorola Phone
Tools). I would still use the BT vendor driver, and ensure that the
Windows drivers are not installed.

Is your phone on? If it is paired to the headset, you will not be able to
pair to the PC. I pair the phone to the PC for sync, and I sometimes find
myself in a mode where I can't pair, and then I realize I am pairing the
wrong devices. I notice the BT symbol on my phone. Either the phone has
paired with the HS820 or the PC, but either way, that pairing prevents the
820-PC pairing. There is something in the HS820 manual about the headset
always auto-pairing with the last device that it had paired, but I just
turn off BT in the phone.
And the passkey is always "0000", right?
